I can explain native gdiplus.
To get onenote to display drawings and arrows you need to do this:
1) Put a copy of MSVP60.DLL and GDIPLUS.DLL in your fake windows/system32 folder.
2) Make sure GDIPLUS.DLL is set to native.
There should be a funky looking arrow on the first page that pops up in onenote.
Ahh, Thanks Mark!
That makes perfect sence :D

I have a question. I followed your steps and I am still having trouble. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and Wine 1.0rc. The install went flawlessly (unlike other guides). Anyways, when I launch word or excel I get the following output. Sorry for the length. Any suggestions? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Nols, did you use a rpcrt4.dll from CrossOver Games?
Twickline: I appreciate the quick response! I did not use the rpcrt4.dll. I used a downloaded one via another guide. I have actually tried several different copies. If however I did install using the crossover games version, would that affect the program's ability (or inability) to load? I should just be able to swap it out if need be, or am I mistaken?
Basically what is happening is that if I open word it gives me an error message and if I click restart then I can boot into safe mode, and click on the office button, but when I click on NEW>blank document (or even open) it just crashes again.
Thanks again!
The dll from CrossOver Games will work, what you need to do is purchase CrossOver Games or CrossOver Office from the links above.
If you purchase CrossOver Office now you get Games for FREE! and when CrossOver 7.0 ships you can upgrade to it for free..
Or build the dll from source, your choice.. We dont have dll downloads here, as we try to be honest and not give out other peoples work.

Hello Everyone,
1) I have never tried a rpcrt4.dll from windows, so I have no idea if this really works or not. I dont own windows.. :D
2) If you cant build the source, look in the Office 2007 install update post.. Nick posted lots of good info about building this dll there..
3) If all else fails, Support Wine and buy a copy of Crossover.
4)dont send mile long terminal output to be posted.. if 20 lines are the same cut them out and put one line (next 20 lines) or something!! This is why ive not posted three other comments.. they are 100 lines long.. And 90% of its the same output.

This didn't work for me on Hardy with wine RC1. I tried it with rpcrt4.dll from vista, from windows xp, and from crossover games.
This did work with wine version 59, but none of the features were any more usable then under the old method with version 58.
I am just going to wait for crossover 7. Twickline, I hope you do a full review of what works and what doesn't for office 2007 when crossover 7 comes out.
Actually, if you use Vista's rpcrt4.dll it should work flawlessly. Grab it from your Vista installation.
vcrun2008 is required too by the way. Has anyone got enterprise edition of office to work. I got student trial version but enterprise tells me that i need windows installer 3.1. Anyone know how to install that?
Mark, thank you, the installation worked flawlessly. The only problem is opening Any of them ,(Word, Onenote, Excel, and Powerpoint.) when i tyr to open them i get a Error message saying it needs to close. Any ideas?
Correct that Onenote and Powerpoint work fine, Word and Excel Dont.
Does this fix the powerpoint drawing objects blackscreen bug?
WHen i unistalled it and tryed to reinstall the installation process just didn't work. I got to the point where it was installing but it completely froze.
