World Wine News issue 416

This is the 416th issue of World Wine News. Its main goal is to inform you of what's going on around Wine. Wine is an open-source implementation of the Windows API on top of X and Unix. Think of it as a Windows compatibility layer. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, as it is a completely alternative implementation consisting of 100% Microsoft-free code.

Wine maintenance release 6.0.4 is now available for Linux FreeBSD and macOS

The Wine maintenance release 6.0.4 is now available.

What's new in this release:

• Various bug fixes

The source is available now. Binary packages are in the process of being built, and will appear soon at their respective download locations.

WineTricks 20220411 has been released

Winetricks is an easy way to work around problems in Wine.

It has a menu of supported games/apps for which it can do all the workarounds automatically. It also allows the installation of missing DLLs and tweaking of various Wine settings.

What's new in this release:

• Mono engine updated to version 7.2.0.
• More progress on the PE conversion of graphics drivers.
• Locale support using the new CLDR-based database.
• Various bug fixes.
