If you have ever been playing a Game or useing a Application in Wine and thought it would really be nice if you could save this event as a video and share it with other people instead of just sending them a simple screenshots then your in luck. Their is a tool out their that will let you do this and much more and it's called Yukon.

Yukon should work with any application but as with everything in life, their are exceptions to the rule so be sure to take a look at the Compatibility page found on their wiki.

Yukon is a set of libraries and applications that are designed to capture realtime videos of OpenGL applications (games). Yukon also has live streaming support through one of its applications called "seom" it is used for writing the data onto the local harddrive and sending the video stream to a network socket. seom-server can be used on a remote computer and it will dump the video to the harddrive while adding a timestamp to each filename. You can also set up a VideoLan client to serve the video to a live stream. More information about seom and Live Streaming can be found on their wiki page.

For information about system requirements, installation, capture and configuration of Yukon and Seom just read over the documentation found in the HowTo section of their wiki.

They have a collection of videos on their site for your viewing pleasure, if you have created a video that you'd like to share with them just visit the contact page for information about how to properly go about doing this.

If you believe you have found a bug or would like to suggest a feature in a future release you can file a ticket in their ticketing system.

Here is a video of "Blob and Conquer 9" created with Yukon!
