You have always wanted to be a general manager of a baseball team, but unfortunately for you getting there takes a lot more than just pure baseball passion. Secretly, you know that your number crunching and baseball knowledge match those of successful GMs like the Yankees' Brian Cashman, the Red Sox's Theo Epstein and Oakland's Billy Beane just check your fantasy baseball stats. What's a fan (and aspiring GM) to do?
The next best thing to actually being a baseball GM is to play one on TV Mac or Linux. And with such love of the game, you already know that Baseball Mogul has been the number 1 best selling baseball simulation game for the last four years. Baseball Mogul 2011 is for Windows only. Ugh! You have reached another obstacle in your baseball career. Is this strike two for your GM hopes and dreams?
Get ready to buy yourself some peanuts and cracker jacks! You've just hit a home run! With CrossOver Games, you can play Baseball Mogul 2012 on Mac or Linux. CrossOver Games let you run windows programs, such as Baseball Mogul 2012, on Mac and Linux. No rebooting. No virtual machine. No windows license.

I really wanted to make this release, but I named it RC3 instead.
I also put up WS7 based engines, and an engine base for custom builds. These are identical to WS6 except they should detect and use multiple monitors correctly.
The master wrapper and engines are up in Wineskin Winery. I’ll be trying to get stand-a-lone installed versions up for download soon, for those that don’t want to use Winery’s downloader for whatever reason. Manual installs will also let you install any version of anything, not just the latest things available in Wineskin Winery.

From Jeremy Whites Blog :
So we set out to make the newly released Civilization V would work in CrossOver a few weeks back. I felt it was my duty to help the QA staff with the testing.
Now, way back in the day, the only time I ever seriously neglected my work, my life, and everything was when Civilization, the original, was released. I distinctly recall looking up from my computer one day, two weeks after I'd gotten it, and wondering, "What have I done!?!?!" Cleverly, I had gotten a copy for my wife, and she was busily playing as well, so I wasn't confronted with divorce the way you might expect. But let's just say I'm lucky my boss at the time wasn't paying a lot of attention to my productivity.

Screen capture courtesy of Intuit QUICKEN 2010 is shown running under CrossOver. Both CrossOver Mac and CrossOver Linux can run the latest version of Quicken with few problems.
Intuits Quicken financial software is highly regarded and widely used by the Windows crowd. Unfortunately, Intuit botched the Mac version of Quicken by taking away some of the most important features of the Windows program.
This is a serious problem for former Windows users who switched recently to the Mac. Sales to "switchers" are a significant percentage of Mac sales, and nothing is as likely to disappoint a new Mac user than finding out your favorite program just isn't the same on your new computer.
But this doesn't have to be. Anyone using a modern Mac can run the latest version of Quicken -- the Windows version, with all its bells and whistles -- by investing $40 in software that gives Macs a way to run Windows programs.

Google SketchUp is one of my favorite applications. Its a free 3D software that I use to create my fabulous 3D models. It works well and lets my imagination and fingers do their magic. Its an excellent therapy for mind and soul. Theres only one problem, so to speak. It has been designed to work on Windows and Mac only, with no Linux version in the offing.
All in all, its not a tragedy, since I believe in using any software and/or operating system that meets the requirements. If you need to draw a bit, you power Windows and do what needs to be done. But some people may not have the privilege to make the cross-platform choice. For them, Google SketchUp is on the wish-list. Or is it?
