A reader medo sent me a nice video and instructions on how to set the default wallpaper in a virtual desktop.

gedit ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/win.ini
And then add the [Desktop] section below.

Code:

[Desktop] Wallpaper=c:\windows\picture name.bmp

Convert your picture if in jpg format to bmp (gimp) and place it in the windows folder:
"~/.wine/drive_c/windows/" picture.bmp

Run wineboot and then test your changes by running winecfg.
