Microsoft engineer Eric Traut gave a presentation at the University of Illinois about Microsoft’s virtualization technology and also mentioned Windows 7. Windows 7 will be the next version of Windows that comes after Windows Vista. The presentation is not directly about Windows 7 it does however contain a demonstration of MinWin, an internal Microsoft project to build the most efficient Windows kernel which will in turn be used in the future Windows 7 release.

The presentation runs for approximately 1 hour and includes a look into Microsoft's implementation of hypervisors. A hypervisor is a virtualization platform that allows multiple operating systems to run on a host computer at the same time.
