I now have my new box up and running and thought I would post some benchmark results that I've run. All of the 3DMark Benchmarks were run in window mode at 1024x768x32 unless other wise stated. I don't currently have Windows XP on this box so I cant compare the difference between Wine and XP.
I also ran 3DMark 2000 on CrossOver Office to see what kind of score I would get. I can try and bench everything here in full screen mode and on CrossOver if people are interested in this type of data.(just let me know) Also if you by chance have a system with similar hardware as this box and have XP installed on it, and any of the benchmarks below please send me the data and ill post the results so other readers can see the difference in the scores. I will most likely at a future date break down and purchase a XP Pro licence just for the sole purpose of comparing the two systems.
Wine version: 0.9.49
Distro: Gentoo current
system specs:
ASUS P5N-E SLI Motherboard
Intel 4-core CPU @ 2.4Ghz
8GB Dual-channel DDR2 800Mhz Memory
Black Steel Modular case w/extra fans 450w PSU
PCIe x4 hardware raid SATA II (4) 320GB SATA 3.0G drives (PRT)
Nvidia 8800GTS-640MB PCIe x16 video
22" high-speed widescreen LCD
Plextor DVD+-RW/CDRW
The score is higher in CrossOver because image quality is slightly inferior to Wine, for example Environmental Bump Mapping in Wine works where as it doesn't in CrossOver.
CrossOver Office 3DMark 2000 1024x768x16
CrossOver Office 3DMark 2000 1024x768x32
3DMark 05/06 and PC Mark 2004 will be run at a later date.
