Wine configuration

This is with a clean configuration directory and running in a 1024x768 virtual desktop.

$ winecfg

Once the .wine directory is built the configuration tool will start and you can set a virtul desktop in the graphics tab if you wish.

Installing Winamp 5.5

tom@tom:~$ wine winamp55_full_emusic-7plus_en-us.exe

During the installation process do not select the "Winamp Agent" or "Modern skins" under User Interface Extensions.

Winamp 5.5 first run

tom@tom:~$ cd /home/tom/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Winamp
tom@tom:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Winamp$ wine winamp
fixme:shdocvw:PersistStreamInit_InitNew (0x123d98)
fixme:midi:OSS_MidiInit Synthesizer supports MIDI in. Not yet supported.

Still no media library and lots of bugs dragging the main window around for me.

Alot of issues with the window, and the media library doesn't work.

Milkdrop 2 works almost
flawlessly, which is mostly what I care about, so thanks! Best visualizer in existance!

Anyone know what needs to be done to get the media library to work or does the media library work
with an older version?

I use a karaoke plugin for winamp that requires the media library.

hey, i'm a new user of linux and i have ubuntu. i downloaded wine and installed winamp successfully,
but everytime i try to play the milkdrop visualizer it tells me there is an error and the plug-in
has executed an illegal operation forcing winamp to close. any suggestions?
